ARDEN HILLS, Minn.—Bethel University's baseball team is eager to start their title defense of the 2017 MIAC regular season championship after beginning the 2018 season 13-3 in the first 16 contests. But the Royals, who have earned the regular-season crown twice in the last three years, will be forced to be patient as April's weather doesn't look accommodating for outdoor baseball. Monday's twin bill against St. Thomas, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 31, has been postponed to Tuesday, April 3, however, that date is looking very unlikely. Wednesday's road games against Hamline at CHS Field and Saturday's home opener against Gustavus is also in jeopardy due to forecasted snow and 30-degree temperatures.
