BLOOMINGTON, Minn.—The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) closed the book on the 2017-18 women's basketball season Wednesday with the annual announcement of the Conference awards. Among those honored in the end-of-year accolades was Bethel's Taite Anderson, Jasmin Bretoi, Hannah Johnson, Angie Kirchoff, and Abby Miller. Anderson, Johnson and Miller all received All-Conference recognition, while Bretoi was voted Sixth Player of the Year and Kirchoff was elected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Taite Anderson's All-MIAC award is the second of her young career. She concluded her sophomore season with 366 points, 175 rebounds, 41 assists, 34 steals, and 26 blocks, while shooting .572 from the floor, .516 from downtown, and .635 from the free throw line. Her overall shooting percentage was second among all MIAC Players and No. 12 nationwide. She also finished among the Top 10 across the league in field goals (135), free throws (80), offensive rebounds (61), defensive rebounds (114), total boards (175), and blocks (26).

Hannah Johnson also received her second straight All-MIAC honor after an unforgettable junior campaign. Johnson, who was voted MIAC Player of the Week five times, ended the year with 401 points, 270 rebounds, 91 blocks, and 37 assists, while shooting .521 from the floor, .400 from the perimeter, and .833 from the charity stripe. She finished No. 2 nationwide in triple-doubles (1), No. 6 in blocks per game (3.35), No. 18 in defensive rebounds per game (8.0), No. 28 in double-doubles (14), and No. 54 in rebounds per game (10.3). Moreover, Johnson led the league in all five categories. She also finished fifth in scoring, fourth in free throw percentage, and fifth in shooting percentage among all MIAC players.

Abby Miller closed out her college career with her first All-MIAC accolade after a memorable senior season. Miller, who eclipsed 1,000 career points in the final week of the regular season, completed the year with 338 points, 36 rebounds, 27 steals, 24 assists, while shooting .420 from the floor, .438 from outside the arc, and .842 from the foul line. Her .438 3-point shooting percentage led the league and ranked No. 15 among all NCAA Division III players nationwide, while her total 3-pointers made (64) and 3-pointers made per game (2.56) ranked second in the MIAC.

Jasmin Bretoi was voted Sixth Player of the Year in her final year with the Royals. Bretoi started the first six games of the season before transitioning to become Bethel's top reserve. The senior guard provided key production off the bench for the Royals this season, particularly down the stretch when she averaged 10 points per game in the month of January. Bretoi's signature performance came against St. Catherine on January 6, when she scored a game-high 27 points while shooting 7-for-11 from behind the arc.

As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC also announced the 12th annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for women's basketball. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition. Angie Kirchoff was selected to represent the Royals on this prestigious team.
