MIAC Semifinal Recaps
ST. PETER, Minn. - The Bethel University women's hockey team's season came to an end with a 4-0 loss to top seeded and No. 5-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the MIAC Playoffs. The Gusties scored all four of their goals in the second period and outshot Bethel 41-15 to advance to next Saturday's MIAC Championship game.
After a scoreless first period the Gusties scored their first goal on a power play at 2:19 in the second. Gustavus really opened the game up with three goals in the final six minutes of the period, the final on a power play to make it 4-0.
Maggie Straka made 37 saves for the Royals in doing her part to keep the Gusties off the board in the first and third periods.
Bethel's season comes to a close with a 12-13-2 overall record. Gustavus improved to 20-2-4 as they will host No. 2 seed Hamline University next Saturday for the MIAC Playoff championship.
