Women Set School Record in Distance Medley

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - For the second straight weekend, the women's track and field team set a school record in a relay event. The team of
Anna Hage,
AddieKay Johnson,
Erin Alpers, and
Annika Halverson ran 12:03.56 in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR). That performance placed them 5
th at the very competitive meet, and also places them 12
th on the NCAA Division III honor roll. "I'm very proud of those girls. They put everything they had into that race," said Head Coach
Andrew Rock.
Delia Labatt continued her terrific season with a 2
nd place finish in the 400m. Her time of 56.95 ties her lifetime best indoors, and places her 5
th in Division III. Freshman
Hannah Sankey took 5
th place in the same race with a time of 58.54.
Syri Williams dashed her way to a 4
th place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.62 seconds, while
Allie Terpstra finished 6
th (9.72). Williams was also the top finisher for the Royals in the 200m (27.80), just one-one hundredth of a second ahead of her teammate
Kelby Olson-Rodel (27.81).
Lydia Herath had a solid run in the 1000m placing 6
th with 3:11.21.Â
"We're all looking forward to the next few weeks for our team," Rock says. The championship season begins for the Royals next weekend as they compete at Macalester College in the MIAC Indoor Championships.
