Women Set School Record in Distance Medley

RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - For the second straight weekend, the women's track and field team set a school record in a relay event. The team of Anna Hage, AddieKay Johnson, Erin Alpers, and Annika Halverson ran 12:03.56 in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR). That performance placed them 5th at the very competitive meet, and also places them 12th on the NCAA Division III honor roll. "I'm very proud of those girls. They put everything they had into that race," said Head Coach Andrew Rock.

Delia Labatt continued her terrific season with a 2nd place finish in the 400m. Her time of 56.95 ties her lifetime best indoors, and places her 5th in Division III. Freshman Hannah Sankey took 5th place in the same race with a time of 58.54. Syri Williams dashed her way to a 4th place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.62 seconds, while Allie Terpstra finished 6th (9.72). Williams was also the top finisher for the Royals in the 200m (27.80), just one-one hundredth of a second ahead of her teammate Kelby Olson-Rodel (27.81). Lydia Herath had a solid run in the 1000m placing 6th with 3:11.21.

"We're all looking forward to the next few weeks for our team," Rock says. The championship season begins for the Royals next weekend as they compete at Macalester College in the MIAC Indoor Championships.
