WINONA, Minn.—Bethel University's women's tennis team continued their strong start to the season with a 6-3 win over Saint Mary's University. The Royals (3-0, 1-0 MIAC) swept the doubles matches to help get the win over the Cardinals (2-4, 0-2 MIAC).
No. 1 doubles team
Maggie Riermann and
Mattie Kidder rolled to an 8-2 win to start the day off for the Royals. The No. 2 (
Mackenzie Novak and Jill Weinzetell) and 3 (
Mattie Lubben and
Sami Hindt) doubles duos each got 8-4 wins in their respective matches.
Mattie Kidder finished her day with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles and
Mackenzie Novak sealed the team triumph for the Royals with her straight set win in the No. 3 singles match.
"We struggled a little bit in singles play today, but the doubles play carried us through," said head coach

The team continues conference play Friday, February 16, when they travel to Owatonna to play St. Olaf College at 6:30 p.m.
