Royals Continue Perfect Start in Conference Opener
WINONA, Minn.—Bethel University's men's tennis team started conference play with another victory Saturday to remain undefeated on the season. The Royals (4-0, 1-0 MIAC) beat the Cardinals (1-3, 0-2 MIAC) by a final score of 7-2 at the Winona Tennis Center.

Hunter Fernelius and
Zach Kantor had a dominant day on the court. The pair earned an 8-2 win during the No. 1 doubles match and then each went on to win their respective singles matches. Fernelius made a statement with his 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 1 singles match and Kantor strolled to a 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 2 match.
The No. 3 doubles team of
Noah Ridgway and Nick Knudson got an 8-4 win to give the Royals a 2-1 advantage going into singles play. With the Royals up 4-1 and needing just one more match to seal a victory, Nick Knudson took the court for the No. 4 singles match. After falling behind 1-5, Knudson battled all the way back to win the opening set 7-6. He went on to win the next set 6-2 and clinched the win over SMU for the Royals.

Drew Fernelius. "Hopefully we'll have another good week of practice this week."

The Royals head to the Owatonna Tennis Club next Saturday to face off against St. Olaf College at 1:30 p.m.
