EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Bethel University women's hockey team hit the road for the first time this season and fell by a 5-1 score at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Blugolds, who are ranked No. 9 in the latest USCHO.com Top 10 poll jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period. Bethel was able to score first in the second period as Kaylyn Forlitti scored off assists from
Payton Olson and
Cali Pearcy. UWEC built their lead up to 4-1 in the second period. All four Blugolds goals came on the power play. UW-Eau Claire scored their first even strength goal at 9:58 in the third period for the 5-1 final score.
The Friday night contest is the only one this weekend for the Royals. They will open up MIAC play next weekend with the Augsburg University Auggies. Friday nights action will take place in Bethel University Arena with a 7 p.m. start and Saturday the two teams will faceoff at Augsburg, also at 7 p.m.
