Tommies Blank Bethel, 4-0

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Bethel University men's hockey team looked to keep their positive vibes rolling after a victory last Saturday over UW-River Falls heading into a Friday night matchup at the University of St. Thomas, but the Tommies had other ideas as they shutout the Royals by a 4-0 score. UST outshot Bethel by a 33-19 margin and scored once in both the first and third periods and twice in the second to take the MIAC victory.

The Tommies scored their first goal with just 21 seconds remaining in a cleanly played first period that saw no penalties called. The second period was a different story however as each team was whistled for four penalties, all either roughing or slashing, and the Tommies scored twice. UST's final score came midway through the third period for the 4-0 final margin. Bethel was 0-for-3 on the power play while UST was 0-for-2.

The Tommies and Royals will finish their series with a 7 p.m. contest Saturday night in Bethel University Arena at the National Sports Center in Blaine.
