Hannah Johnson Receives Third MIAC Player of the Week Award this Season
BLOOMINGTON, Minn.—The MIAC announced Monday that Bethel University women's basketball player
Hannah Johnson was voted Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The award is Johnson's third of the season and fourth career.
Â
Johnson's recognition is a result of sensational individual play and two significant team wins over Augsburg University and No. 20-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College. The Royals dominated the Auggies—a team ahead of them in the conference standings prior to game time—by a final score of 96-64 on Wednesday evening before posting a memorable come-from-behind 66-64 victory over the Gusties Saturday afternoon.
Â
Johnson stuffed the stat sheet in both games, tallying back-to-back double-doubles in each performance. The junior center mustered 13 points, 16 rebounds, and two blocks against Augsburg before composing 16 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks against Gustavus. The Duluth, Minn., native was 14-of-28 (.500) from the floor throughout the week with 29 points (14.5 per game), 32 rebounds (16.0 per game), and six blocks (3.0 per game).
