BLAINE, Minn. - The Bethel University Women's Hockey team tied the St. Olaf College Oles 3-3 Friday night at Bethel University Arena. The first period saw a flurry of chances for both teams, but resulted in no scoring. The Oles started the scoring early in the second period, but the Royals were able to answer back quickly on a goal by
Erika Geary assisted by
Sarina Goos and
Sarah Moy.
Wendy Roberts continued her scoring streak scoring the remaining two goals for the Royals, including the equalizer with 4:44 left in the third period.
Bailey Thompson,
Lauren Kolak and Kristen Olson assisted on both of Robert's Goals. With both teams unable to score in the final minutes, the game was sent into overtime. In the extra time both teams had their chances to pick up the extra point but were unsuccessful.
The tie for the Royals brings their record to 7-9-4, 4-5-4 in the MIAC and still one point ahead of the Oles who are now 6-12-1 and 5-7-1 in the MIAC. The two teams will square off once again Saturday afternoon in Northfield. Puck drop is scheduled for 2pm.
