Hannah Johnson Receives Second Consecutive MIAC Athlete of the Week Award
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Bethel University women's basketball player Hannah Johnson has had a stellar start to her junior campaign and MIAC Sports Information Directors have taken notice, awarding the aforementioned player her second consecutive (the first two awards of the season) MIAC Athlete of the Week award today. Johnson and the Royals had a memorable week, as BU handed UW-River Falls its first loss of the season Tuesday night and No. 12 George Fox University its first loss of the season Saturday afternoon. As a result, Bethel is now 3-1 on the season with one more nonconference game against the University of Northwestern on November 29 before heading into conference play at the College of Saint Benedict Saturday, December 2.
Johnson averaged 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks, while shooting nearly 40 percent from the floor and a blistering 87.5 percent from the free throw line. In Bethel's biggest win of the season over the Bruins from GFU, Johnson finished with 17 points, 16 rebounds, six blocks, and two assists in 37 minutes played.
