BLAINE, Minn. - The Bethel University Men's hockey team fell short Friday night at the hands of the Hamline University Pipers by a score of 5-3. The Pipers hopped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first, however the Royals would respond as
Andrew Bjorklund tucked a wrap around in the net at 4:48 of the first period to close the gap going into the intermission. Hamline would get the only goal of the second period and took their two goal lead to the final frame. The Royals showed lots of resilience getting goals from
Kurtis Redding assisted by
Tyler Mros and
Dallas Marvin as well as George Spichal from
Peter Barral. Splichal's goal brought the Royals within one goal with under six minutes to play. With goalie
Joe Sheppard pulled the Royals clawed for the equalizer in the final minute, but came up empty as Hamline was able to put the puck in the empty net to secure the win.
