Minnesota-Morris ResultsLAKEVILLE, Minn. – The Bethel University men's tennis team split a pair of matches over the weekend at Lifetime Fitness, taking their record to 7-3 on the season. The Royals lost their first match of the day against Carleton College before rebounding for a 9-0 win against the University of Minnesota Morris.
"The guys competed extremely well today against one of the top three teams on our schedule and rebounded nicely with a dominating win over Morris," said head coach
Drew Fernelius.
Bethel got out to a slow start in the opening match against Carleton, losing all three doubles points for just the second time this season. However, the Royals quickly rebounded in the by winning both the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches.

Kolin Kiekhoefer each won in third-set tiebreakers against two of the top singles players in the conference. Despite the two hard-fought victories, the Royals could not hold the momentum as the final four singles matches went to the Knights.
In the final competition of the day, the Royals cruised to a 9-0 win over the University of Minnesota Morris. Bethel delivered their most convincing performance of the season on Sunday night as they did not surrender a single game. They used 11 players in the match and rolled to their sixth nonconference victory of the season.
The Royals will now prepare for their upcoming Spring Break trip to Orlando, Florida where they will play seven matches over five days. Their first match will be on March 13 as they take on the University of Saint Francis.
