Box Score 4 BaseballThe BU baseball team recorded a sweep in Thursday's twin bill against Skidmore College. The Royals defeated the Thoroughbreds 8-3 in game one and 5-2 in game two.
Jake Hanzalik recorded his first win on the mound in game one after pitching a scoreless fourth and fifth inning in relief. Hanzalik struck out four of the six batters he faced.
John Eischens got his first start of the season and took full advantage of it in game two. Eischens, who improved to 2-0 on the year, allowed two hits and zero walks, while striking out three in 5.0 innings of work.
Bryce Marquardt was 4-for-8 with two runs driven in and three runs scored.
Matt Conrad finished the day 3-for-7 at the plate with three RBI's and one run scored. Meanwhile,
Bret Neuville was 3-for-6 with one run and two RBI's and
Jarad Watts completed his day 2-for-7 with three runs and one RBI.

Bethel faces two nationally-recognized opponents Friday, including  (RV) Amherst College and Augustana College. The final day of competition features 9 a.m. battle versus Amherst and a Noon contest against Augustana.
GolfThe Bethel men's golf team took on Coastal Carolina (NCAA Division I) Thursday in a match play contest at Hackler Course, which is located on the University of Coastal Carolina's campus in Conway, South Carolina. The Royals were unable to grab a point, as the Chanticleers won all five matches.

The women's golf team also played a match play event against Arizona Christian University at Moon Valley Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona. Scores have not yet come in yet from that event.
SoftballBethel's softball team enjoyed their final off day of the trip Thursday before finishing their week of competition Friday against UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m. and Calvin College at 3 p.m.
TennisThe Bethel University men's and women's tennis team completed a perfect spring break trip to Florida, as the Royals both finished the week unbeaten. BU's week was capped off Thursday afternoon by an 8-1 victory against Calvin College for both programs.
The men went ahead 3-0 after a trio of doubles matches, which was then followed by a 5-1 mark during singles play.
Matt Schull and
Luke Palmquist set the tone early by defeating their opponent 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, which was followed by Bret Lizotte and Kolin Kiekhoeffer, who won 8-4 at No. 2.
Hunter Fernelius and
Jakob Bartels endured until the very end and went on to win 9-7 at No. 3. Kiekhoeffer overcame a 2-6 loss in the opening set of the No. 2 singles match, but won the second 6-3, and the tiebreaker 10-8.
Peter Lindberg outlasted his adversary 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 6 singles match.

The women started with singles play and it was
Abigail Anderson that gave the Royals a lift, as she won at No. 6 singles by a final score of 4-6, 6-3, 10-6.
Samantha Hindt lost just one set at No. 4 singles and
Sydney Parkinson quickly topped her opponent 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. The momentum from a 5-1 start in singles play carried over into doubles play, as Bethel was won 8-2 at No. 1, 8-1 at No. 2, and 8-4 at No. 3.
The men, now 13-3, and the women, who are 12-2, both return to Minnesota Saturday afternoon.
