BLAINE, Minn. - The Bethel University men's hockey team saw the Concordia University-Wisconsin Falcons score three third period goals to pull away from Bethel, who had two different goals disallowed during the game for the net coming off, in a 4-0 loss. After the two teams combined for six goals in the first period on Friday night, Saturday's contest was much different as neither team scored and they both got off 11 shots in the first period. The Falcons were able to score their first goal early in the second period and that would be it until their second came early in the third and two more in the last minutes of the game. While it was still 1-0 and 2-0 the Royals had appeared to score goals but both were waived off by the officials.
The Falcons were able to retain the Thanksgiving Cup, winning the annual Thanksgiving weekend series for the fourth straight time over the Royals. Bethel falls to 1-8-1 on the year and will return to action with one final non-conference game before the end of the semester on December 6th against UW-River Falls. The Royals will host UWRF at 7 p.m. in Bethel University Arena.
