MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's hockey team suffered a 3-0 setback at the University of St. Thomas Friday night. The Royals were shutout for the second consecutive game and fell into a three-way tie for fifth place in the MIAC with Augsburg and Saint Benedict.
UST outshot Bethel 42-20 for the game.
Michelle Klimstra made a career high 39 saves, including 20 in the first period alone. St. Thomas was awarded six different power play opportunities but were unable to score and Bethel was 0-3 in their chances.
The loss drops the Royals to 10-8-2 overall and 5-6-2 in the MIAC. Bethel will host UST Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Bethel University Arena at the National Sports Center in Blaine.
