STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Bethel University men's hockey team traveled to faceoff with the No. 5 ranked University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Pointers Saturday night and fell by a 9-4 score. The high-powered Pointers scored in bunches including two short-handed goals along with two power play goals.
UWSP scored a single goal in the first period for a 1-0 lead before scoring two goals within 30 seconds of each other early in the second. The Pointers added another goal shortly after for a 4-0 lead before Phillip Cameron gave the Royals a highlight, scoring an unassisted, short-handed goal after swiping a Pointers pass. The goal came with less than two minutes remaining in the second period but UWSP was able to add another goal before the end of the second and added another one just 1:06 into the third period. The UWSP goal was yet another short-handed, unassisted goal, giving the Pointers a 6-1 lead.
Michael Chuinard and
Dylan Webster hooked up for Bethel to score two minutes later for the Royals. UW-Stevens Point wasn't finished with their onslaught however as they scored three goals between the 6:36 and 10:09 marks of the final period to extend their lead to 9-2. The first goal was on a power play while the last was scored short-handed, the second such goal for UWSP in the game and third overall in the contest. Bethel did not quit, however as they scored two goals within the last five minutes. Webster scored for Bethel with assists to Chuinard and

Ty Walls.
Bethel will return to MIAC action next weekend as they will play host to the No. 14 ranked University of St. Thomas Tommies on Friday night. The series will then head to Mendota Heights for the Saturday matchup.
