Balanced Royal Attack Garners 90-33 Win over North Central

MINNEAPOLIS—After an exciting and high-intensity matchup in conference play Monday evening, the Bethel University women's basketball team came back 24 hours later to throttle North Central University on the road Tuesday night by a final score of 90-33. The balanced Royals were not only able to play all 15 team members, but also acquired offensive production from 13 different players.

BU, who led 57-15 at the intermission break, finished the game shooting 51.4 percent from the floor (37-of-72) and 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from downtown. The Royals outrebounded the hosting Rams throughout the night 39-26 and demolished NCU inside—outscoring their opponent 56-14 in the paint.

Bethel forced North Central into 31 turnovers, thanks to 20 steals throughout the 40 minutes of play. Meanwhile, BU surrendered just 10 turnovers all night. Their exceptional defensive performance led to a 40-4 margin in points off turnovers. Kailey Eid led the team with five steals, while Kalli Zimmermann finished with four.

Rachel Parupsky ended the nonconference affair as the leading scorer with 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting with two rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. Lindy Parker added 12 points, four rebounds, and two blocks as well. Shanni Moorse had her first double-digit performance of the season, shooting 3-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe for 10 points, which went alongside her five boards and three steals.

Sydney Schultz finished Tuesday's contest with eight points, which was her second consecutive eight-point performance. Kalli Zimmermann, Kaela Huber, and Kailey Eid all poured in seven points.

The Royals, who are on a terror of eight-straight games away from the Robertson Center, continue their 2014-15 campaign Friday night with a 5 p.m. tipoff against Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa.
