Bethel Men's Hockey PreviewBLAINE, Minn. - The Bethel University men's hockey team will open their 2014-15 season tonight against the No. 12 ranked Gustavus Adolphus Golden Gusties in the sixth-annual MIAC Hockey Showcase. This year the showcase is being held at the National Sports Center's Schwan Super Rink. The Royals will compete in Rink 2 Friday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday will take on St. Olaf in Rink 1 at 6:30 p.m. Live video and stats can be found
here.The Royals welcome a large newcomer class of 16 to go along with their top three scorers from last season who all return for 2014-15. Bethel will also have a trio of new faces on the bench as
Tim Fisher,
Tom Stumpf and
Dan Bjornlie are all in their first season on fifth-year head coach
Charlie Burggraf's coaching staff. The Royals will play nine of their 12 games prior to the semester break in Blaine at the National Sports Center either in the MIAC showcase or on their home ice, Bethel University Arena (Rink 5).
