LAKE FOREST, Ill. – A pair of goals each by
Cristina Masten and
Caroline Kivisto led the Bethel University women's hockey team to a 4-2 win over Lake Forest College Saturday afternoon. After settling for a 3-3 tie Friday night, the Royals jumped out to an early lead and held on to improve to 9-2-2 on the season. Both of Masten's goals came on power plays, the first just under five minutes into the game and the second with just over two minutes remaining in the game. Kivisto scored her two goals within ten minutes of each other in the second and third periods.
Caitlin Dantzscher made 35 saves in the net for Bethel and the Royals defense held the Foresters well below their season scoring average for the second time. Lake Forest entered the weekend second in all of Division III women's hockey averaging five goals per game and had averaged seven in their previous four games entering the series with Bethel.

Karly Vohden all tallied an assist for Bethel. The Foresters outshot the Royals 37-22 in the game.
Bethel will return to MIAC play next weekend with a series against Saint Mary's University. The Royals will travel to Winona, Minn., on Friday night before returning to the Bethel University Arena Saturday for a 5 p.m. matchup with the Cardinals.
