ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University men's tennis team got themselves back in the win column with a convincing 8-1 victory over Hamline. The Royals came out on top in all three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches to pick up their second MIAC victory of the season.

“We got off to a really good start by sweeping in doubles and we kept the momentum going from there,” Royals coach Drew Fernelius said. “From top to bottom the guys were really good today, rebounding from a tough week last week.”

Bethel won 8-4 at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles as Tucker Morris and Reggie Ronning and Brett Lizotte and Steve Schull put the Royals up early for good. Kirby Ronning and Luke Palmquist finished off the sweep with an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, all five victorious Royals won in straight sets. Steve Schull at No. 3 singles recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

“It was the second straight really impressive win for Steve today which is great to see,” coach Fernelius said.
