Day four milestones
Tennis remains perfect in Florida…
The Royals men's and women's tennis team remain perfect in Florida, as the two squads have gone 4-0 since Monday's first match against St. Ambrose University. For the women, it was their third win in their last four team competitions and for the men, it was their second straight.
Sweep singles…
The women's tennis team swept Illinois Wesleyan Wednesday in all six singles matches.
Abby Edin,
Lisa Scheevel,
Kristin Vivian,
Kayla Wheeler,
Amanda Johnson, and
Charise Kendrick all won in one-on-one play—all in two sets. Meanwhile
Steph Brown and Vivian won 8-4 in No. 2 doubles and
Abby Kreklau and
Kayla Wheeler defeated their doubles opponents 8-0.
Not afraid of narrow margins…
Bethel's men's tennis team won its second consecutive match by a final score of 5-4, as the Royals got two crucial victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, as well as No. 1 singles.
Tucker Morris outlasted his opponent at No. 1 singles with set scores of 2-6, 6-1, 10-6 (tiebreaker) and came back to win at No. 1 doubles with teammate
Reggie Ronning. Reggie's cousin Kirby and
Luke Palmquist defeated their competition 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
Day of rest…
Both the Bethel softball and baseball team had an off day Thursday, March 14. The softball team used their day to rest and recuperate by the pool and in their living quarters, while the baseball team went to a Minnesota Twins practice and then went to the beach on Sanibel Island.
Caroline cruising…
Jumping right into softball practice after just finishing the 2012-13 hockey season the day before,
Caroline Kivisto and five others have added great depth to the Royals roster thus far this spring. Kivisto, who has been a primary catcher for Bethel, is batting .619 with four doubles and a home run in 21 at bats throughout seven games played.
Golfing getaway…
Enjoying sunny California still, the men's golf team used Thursday to play Woods Valley Golf Course. Not only did the team play at Woods Valley, but they also took a break from the links to go ocean kayaking. To see a picture of the group, click

Daily temps…
All Florida teams enjoyed a high of 74 degrees, despite a cooler morning and evening. Friday's weather looks to be even more beautiful with temperatures believed to be nearly 80 degrees. San Diego, California, where the men's golf team and track and field teams are is approximately 10 degrees less, as Southern California topped out at 67 degrees Thursday.
