Day four milestones

Softball sensational in sunny Florida…
The Bethel University softball team had an outstanding day in Clermont, Florida, finishing the day 2-0 with wins over Haverford College and Thomas College. The Royals had timely hitting and exceptional defense, which allowed BU to improve to 6-4 on the year and 5-3 in Florida.

11-run inning…
Its not often a softball team scores 11 runs in a game—let alone in an inning. The Royals put together 11 runs in the second inning against Thomas College Wednesday, as each person in the BU lineup scored at least once. Bethel went around the order nearly two times and scored what was believed to be one of the most runs in an inning.

Come from behind boys…
The Royals baseball team recorded its fifth consecutive win Wednesday with a 7-5 victory over Olivet College. The nonconference victory was the eighth come-from-behind win in their last nine victories, which have included all but one game in Florida.  Matt Rowley finished Wednesday's game 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBI. Meanwhile, David Freed also went 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs, and three walks.

Three in two days…
Bethel University's tennis teams were off Wednesday, but the Royals will play three matches in two days. BU will take on Illinois Wesleyan University Thursday followed by two matches Friday—Wheaton College and Roger Williams University.

Daily temps…
Wednesday welcomed the Royals back to warmer temperatures, as the rains cleared and the clouds scattered to provide 75 degrees and sun. Cool breezes still continued, but overall Wednesday was very pleasant.
