MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team could not duplicate their solid play in Friday's 4-1 victory and the University of St. Thomas came away with a convincing 5-1 victory of their own Saturday at the St. Thomas Ice Arena. The Royals scored early in the first period and looked to keep their momentum rolling but the Tommies scored the next five goals to leave the Royals in a three-way tie for fifth place in the MIAC.
 
Bethel will take on Augsburg College next weekend and desperately needs a sweep of the eighth place Auggies to leave themselves in good position for a MIAC playoff spot (the top five teams make the MIAC playoffs) heading into the final weekend. Augsburg and Bethel will play at the Bethel University Arena Friday at 7 p.m., before traveling to Minneapolis Saturday night.
