The time of year has come for the Bethel University spring sports squads to migrate to Florida for its annual spring break trip, where the baseball, tennis, and softball teams will battle and compete against a number of institutions from all around the country. The anticipated spring break sun has come early to Bethel athletics and to people all across the Midwest, as the traveling units will not experience much of a climate change from the last week of weather on campus to the week ahead in Florida.

Despite the fact that the four groups have already been able to get outside and practice on the real surfaces, each are eager to compete on grass, dirt, or courts. Baseball was the first team to fly out, as nearly 45 players and coaches flew out of Minneapolis to Ft. Myers, Fla. on Friday afternoon. The Royals baseball program will go head-to-head against North Park University in a nine-inning game this afternoon at 12 p.m.

The tennis and softball squads are set to fly out to Orlando today, as the two teams will not be tested until Sunday, March 18. The tennis program will compete in a number of different locations around the Orlando area, while the softball team will camp out at the NSCAA National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. The softball squad will faceoff against Fontbonne University in its first affair of the trip at 11 a.m. Sunday. The men's and women's tennis group will face CUNY in its first contest of the trip on Monday at the Oak Street Courts at 8 a.m., followed by the second dual of the day against Lawrence University.

Live webcasts for baseball games will be available here, while live in-game statistics for both baseball and softball can be seen here. Also, live tweets and images can be seen on the Bethel Royals twitter page. Be sure to check the online schedule often, as game times are schedule to change.
