Box Score
MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Bethel University women's hockey team recorded a big, 2-0 win on the road against Concordia College after settling for a 1-1 tie Friday night. The Royals, and goalie Jess Newstrom, allowed just a single goal in the series to a potent Concordia team as Newstrom stopped 52 of the 53 shots she faced in the two games. The win leaves the Royals at 1-2-1 after their first four MIAC games against the two top ranked opponents in the conference in Gustavus and Concordia.

“We played well today,” Royals coach Brian Carlson said. “The intensity level was very high in both games. I am really happy to get three of the four possible points on the road against a very good team.”

Cristina Masten and Melanie Robertson scored the Royals goals. Masten scored her goal 13:19 into the first period and was assisted by Kate Wahlin and Molly Eagles. Robertson's goal came at the 7:47 mark of the second period with assists to Caroline Kivisto and Lindsay Burman.

Bethel will be off during the Thanksgiving break before returning to action November 30th at Hamline University. The Pipers are 0-3-1 to start the MIAC season.
