BOX SCORES: GAME 1 | GAME 2
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel Royals closed out their season Saturday afternoon at Hargis Park against Hamline University. The Royals dropped the final two games by scores of 15-7 and 11-5.
The Royals had a rough go in game one fending off the Pipers offense. Hamline struck for several early runs, including a two run first, and three run second and third innings, to put themselves in a strong position to win. Unfortunately, the Royals couldn't quite fight back despite putting seven runs up on the board.
Alex Hinseth connected on his second home run on the year in game one, and his second homer in a two day span. He was 2-4 in the game with four RBI as well.
Game two wasn't much better for Bethel, as they had a hard time keeping the Piper offense at bay throughout the game. Following a four run Hamline sixth inning and a three run seventh, the Royals were in constant comeback mode and fell by a final of 11-5.
Once again Hinseth had a solid game at the plate going 2-3 with a RBI.
Erik Anderson was 2-4 with two RBI and
David Freed was 2-2 in the game.
Bethel concludes their season with an 8-12 mark in MIAC play and an overall record of 20-19.
