BOX SCORE
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – In their last non-conference game of the 2011 season, the Bethel Royals took the diamond at Hargis Park Friday afternoon against North Central. The Royals jumped out to an early 9-4 lead in the first three innings of the game and never looked back, winning by a final of 13-9.
A four run first and third inning help lift the Royals past visiting North Central. Three Royals homered in the game with
Erik Anderson going deep twice in the contest.
Alex Hinseth and
Bryce Walt were the other two Royals to hit roundtrippers. For both players, it was their first collegiate home run.
A combined effort on the mound from
Matt Pearson,
Joey Besong, Aaron Wilson, and
David Anderson, help lift the Royals to victory. Pearson started on the bump for Bethel going three innings allowing four earned runs, with two strike outs.
Joey Besong was next in relief and tallied the win, as he pitched 1.1 innings allowing three earned runs. However, the combined efforts of Wilson and Anderson locked down the win for Bethel with Wilson allowing only one hit in 2.2 innings of work with one strike out. Anderson closed out the final frames allowing an earned run in two innings.
Anderson finished the game 2-2 with two homeruns, three runs scored, and three RBI.
Mike Sedjo was 2-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Hinseth finished the game 2-3 at the plate as well, with the homerun and 2 RBI.
