BOX SCORE: GAME 1
BOX SCORE: GAME 2
FORT MYERS, Fla. -
Matt Rowley dominated in Thursday morning's affair against SUNY-Fredonia at Terry Park. Rowley struck out a career high, 12 strikeouts while allowing just 3 hits. Rowley went the distance to help lead the Royals to a 3-0 victory over SUNY-Fredonia in game one of the double header.
The Royals got off to a strong start in game one when they scored 2 runs in the first. That would prove to be all Rowley needed in the game as the Royals would tack on one more to move the contest to 3-0.
Jay Slick led the Bethel boys on offense as he collected a 3-3 game with a RBI.
Travis Piepho also continued his hot streak with a 2-3 game at the dish.
In the second game, the Royals fell behind early, but chipped away late in the game to move the game within a run.
Matt Pearson was on the mound for the Royals in the second game and went 5 strong innings, giving up 1 earned run with 5 K's. Piepho had a 2-3 performance at the plate, while
Erik Anderson chimed in with 2 RBI and went 1-3 in the game. Unfortunately for the Bethel squad, the runs came too late in the game as they couldn't muster out a victory, falling by a final of 4-3.
The Royals will take on SUNY-Plattsburgh Friday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. at Terry Park, as they continue their trip in the Sunshine State.
