EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The Royals dropped a tough road loss Friday night in Eau Claire, Wis. to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The two teams matched up fairly even in the opening period, going into the locker room with a 0-0 tie. Yet BU was unable to match the home team the rest of the way, as UW-Eau Claire defeated Bethel 5-0.
The Blugolds tallied three goals in the second period off of a penalty shot, followed by a goal by Isiah Bennis and Kurt Weston. The third period welcome two more goals for UW-EC when Eric Mclintock scored his third goal of the season along with Travis Peckskamp, who recorded his second.
Bethel had several opportunities to score, as the team totaled 15 shots toward the Eau Claire net. However, Brandon Stephenson was flawless on the evening for the Blugolds.
Despite letting in five goals
Robby Brown (Fr., Battleboro, Vt.) saved 34 shots in the net for the Royals.
