BLAINE, Minn. - The story of the night was all Bethel University as the Royals sped past the Saint Olaf Oles in a 6-3 victory. The Royals now move into 3rd place in the MIAC with a conference record of 5-3-1 and an overall record of 8-7-1.
The Royals dominated the first period as they went up by two goals on 7 shots.
Allison Papko scored her first of a two goal night just 3:00 into the period from
Biz Huss. Nearly 5 minutes later, Charise Kendick scored a goal from
Jenna Dean and
Kate Wahlin. The Royals would hold the Oles to 12 shots in the first and went into the locker room up 2-0.
The game turned against Bethel University in the second period. Saint Olaf came out strong and answered with three goals. Kristin Skoog (Fr., Stillwater, Minn.) scored first, then it was Christina Benjamin (Jr., Edina, Minn.) for the tie on the power play. This was followed by Saint Olaf's first, and only, lead as Megan Stumf (Sr., Oakdale, Minn.) scored with 4:10 left in the second.

Allison Papko to take the lead with just 0:58 left in the second period.
The third period would be more of the same for the Royals as they were able to squeeze two more goals past Saint Olaf. The first was
Kassy Sullivan from
Charise Kendrick and
Anna Carlson and the second was
Allison Papko from
Biz Huss. With 3:53 left in regulation, Saint Olaf pulled their goalie...to no avail.
The Royals play tonight (Saturday) at St. Olaf College at 7:30 p.m.
