BOX SCORE

Northfield, Minn. - The Royals fell to the Saint Olaf Oles last night as their plans for annihilation failed.  The Royals are now 3-4-4 in the MIAC and have a lot of work to do as the race toward playoffs is a tight one.  The Royals are now in 5th place in the MIAC with 10 points overall.

There was no scoring in the first period as the match-up seemed even, both teams having 9 shots.  St. Olaf failed to capitalize on two power play opportunities, the Royals failed at their shot at one, as well.

Yet, St. Olaf was able to convert on their next power play which was a 5-3.  Derek Grogon (Jr., Eagan, Minn) scored first followed by Peter Rohn (Jr., Vettre, Norway).  The Royals answered with a goal by Jack Paul from Jake Kogler and Christian Fogerty.  The Royals went into the locker room down 2-1.

In the third period the Oles increased their lead with a goal by Isak Tranvik (Sr., Robinsdale, Minn.).  The Royals answered this goal by Christian Fogerty from Jon Crouse and Jack Paul, on the power play.  Yet St. Olaf would once again increase their lead with a goal by Britton Smith (Jr., Burnsville, Minn.).

The Royals would ultimately lose as the game ended 4-2.
