BOX SCORE
Blaine, Minn. - Bethel University Women's Hockey came back for MIAC play against the Saint Mary's University Cardinals. The victory was relatively one-sided as the Royals tenaciously fought to create several chances which resulted in several breakaways and a total of 42 shots on goal.
In the first period it was an unassisted goal by defenseman
Molly Eagles who slapped one in.
The score didn't reflect the story of the game play. The Royals again went out on the ice and dominated the second period, yet couldn't hit the back of the net except for
Allison Papko's break away goal, with the assist going to
Kassy Sullivan.
The third period didn't prove to be very different as the Royals maintained their composure and contunied their skillful discipline. They were able to manage to get one more into the net with an effort by Christina Masten from
Rachael Geng and
Allison Papko.
The Royals face-off with the Cardinals again tomorrow at SMU's home ice in Winona, Minn. Puck is set to drop at 4:00 p.m.
