BOX SCORE

ST. PETER, MN -  The Bethel Women's Hockey team were unable to put things back in place as they went down 4-1 in the first period against Gustavus Adolphus College.  The Gusties came out with 3 quick goals in the first period which seemed to set a precedence in the game.

The Royals answered back with a goal by Kate Wahlin from Anna Carlson and Haley Toter.  But, that was not enough as Gustavus scored one more before the intermission putting the score at 4-1. 

Goaltender, Jess Newstrom played tough with her team as she made 40 saves and kept the Gusties from scoring anymore in the second or third period.  The defensive efforts were also notable as the Royals kept the Gusties from scoring on five power play opportunities. 

The Women's Hockey team will face-off against Gustavus to finish the series, this time at home (Bethel University Arena).  Puck drops at 4:00 p.m.
