BOX SCORE

BLAINE, Minn. -
The Men's Hockey team faced off against Gustavus Adolphus College.  In an event that, once again, defines who the Royals are, Bethel took out the Gusties in a 4-1 win.  The #17 ranked team fell to the high paced-high pressure game play that the Royals have embraced and proved effective.  Efforts for scoring included 2 goals by Jack Paul, Garrett Windle, and Chaz Gerads.

In the first period the Royals came out quickly with a goal by Jack Paul from Mason Swenson and Jon Crouse in their first power play.  Shot totals were about even, but possession was clearly in the hands of Bethel as they went into the locker room up 1-0.

The Royals came out in the second with another goal by freshmen Garrett Windle.  However, Bethel did not begin a strategy of conservative game play as they continued the onslaught with Jack Paul's second goal at 10:57 into the second.  It was Zac Bush's solid performance in the net as he saved 17 shots and kept the Gusties from scoring on 2 power plays.

The Gusties came out quickly in the third period by scoring a quick shot on a turnover, from the point.  The puck slipped through the crease through traffic and put the score at 3-1, in favor of Bethel.  Yet, the extent of Gustavus's shooting was cut short as they had only 1 more shot the whole period.  Chaz Gerads scored on the open net from Tom Menozzi and sealed the deal for the Royals.

The Bethel University Men's hockey team plays the Gusties at their home ice tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. The next Royals home game is December 3rd against Concordia College.  Puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
