Women's Hockey Finishes Even with St. Ben's

November 12, 2010

Eagles scores on the powerplay!
BOX SCORE

BLAINE, MN -
The story of tonight's game was turnovers, turnovers and more turnovers. The Bethel Women's Hockey team held St. Benedict in their own zone leaving their defensive zone in pristine condition. Although the game was one-sided, the Royals were unable to capitalize on 38 shots and tied St. Ben's 1-1.

Royal Hockey was in full force tonight for the Women's team. The 1st period was fought in the offensive zone a majority of the time as the Royals racked up 9 shots on goal. Both teams went to the locker room scoreless.

The 2nd period is where the action took place. It began when St. Ben's Holly Reinking scored on the powerplay and put them ahead of the Royals. Bethel answered back with their own goal scored on the power play when Molly Eagles (So., Falcon Heights, Minn.) ripped one from the point, give the assist to Kate Wahlin (So., Lakeville, Minn.). But that was the end of the scoring for this game. The 3rd period followed suit as the Royals maintained a majority of puck possession and tallied a number of chances as they searched in vain for the winning goal.

Join the Royals next Saturday (11/20) when they battle Gustavus Adolphus College, here at the Bethel University Arena. Puck drops at 4 p.m.
