EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Four weeks after their last game, the Bethel Royals took to the road to face off against the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds in a non-conference matchup. The Blugolds broke a scoreless tie 12 minutes into the second period and that was all they needed in a 1-0 shutout of the Royals.

There was a gradual momentum shift that saw the Royals steadily take more shots on goal, while the Blugolds steadily fired less. However, despite 11 shots on goal in the third period, and four more power plays than their opponents, the Royals were still held scoreless.

Nicole Jones (So., Mora, Minn.) made 25 saves on the night, but it was the one that got past her that did the damage. Danika Porter made all 24 saves necessary for UW-Eau Claire.

The loss drops the Royals to 3-8 overall. while the Blugolds improve to 8-5-1 on their season. Bethel will have another two weeks before returning to the ice against Saint Mary's at 7 p.m. on the road in Winona, Minn.
