St. Olaf holds off Bethel 3-1, Otto named to All-Tournament Team

RIVER FALLS, Wis.
- The Bethel University volleyball team wrapped up their play in the UW-River Falls Tournament against conference opponent St. Olaf. The Royals fell 3-1 (13-25, 20-25, 25-22, 18-25) to an undefeated Ole squad.

The Oles held Bethel's top two hitters in check, limiting both Kelly Otto (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) and Jennifer Stoa (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) to just six kills apiece. Stoa also had six block assists and a service ace for a total of 10 points during the match.

St. Olaf was led by Jennifer Levin with 17 kills, three solo blocks, a service ace, and a block assist, while Kim Smisek had kills, two solo blocks, and a block assist.

At the end of the weekend-long tournament, Otto was named to the All-Tournament Team.

For the second week in a row, the Royals posted a 2-2 record in tournament play, bringing their record to 4-4 on the season. They are scheduled to participate in one more tournament before beginning their conference schedule. They will travel down to St. Louis to participate in the Washington University Teri Clemens Invitational beginning at 5 p.m. next Friday afternoon against last season's NCAA runner up, UW-Whitewater.
