Bethel puts away St. Catherine in three sets

RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The Royals continued their tournament play in the weekend-long UW-River Falls Invitational by putting away the St. Catherine Wildcats 3-0.

Two of the three sets were close, with the Royals winning 25-22 twice, and they ran away with the match by cruising to a 25-16 win in third set.

The match saw double digit point totals from both Kelly Otto (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) and Jennifer Stoa (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.). Otto finished the game with 14 kills and five block assists totaling 16.5 points, and Stoa racked up 12.5 points with 12 kills and one block assist.

This win puts the Royals tournament record at 2-1 and season record at 4-3, while the Wildcats fall to 2-5 overall. The Bethel University volleyball team will finish the tournament with a game later in the day against conference opponent St. Olaf, beginning at 3:30 in the Karges Center.
