UW-River Falls tops Bethel 3-0

RIVER FALLS, Wis.
- The Bethel University volleyball team concluded their first day of tournament play with a loss to host UW-River Falls. The Royals were defeated 3-0 (22-25, 23-25, 26-28), with each set slipping out of their hands by only a few points.

Despite the outcome, several Royals made an impact on the court. Kelly Otto (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) led the team with 13 points on 10 kills, a service ace, and four block assists. Chelsea Falck (Sr., DeForest, Wis.) and Jennifer Stoa (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) followed close behind with 11 and 10.5 points, respectively.

Kelsey Scheele of UW-River Falls led her team with 11 kills, five service aces, and three block assists, totaling 17.5 points.

The Royals are now 1-1 in the tournament and 3-3 in their season record, while UW-River Falls improves to 2-4 overall. Bethel is scheduled to play two more games in the tournament tomorrow against conference opponents St. Catherine and St. Olaf beginning at 11:30 a.m. against the Wildcats.
