ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - After opening their season with 12 straight games on the road, the Royals were looking forward to playing their first home game tonight against the Hamline University Pipers. However, the Pipers spoiled the homecoming as they defeated the Royals in three straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-21).

Chelsea Falck (Sr., DeForest, Wis.) led the Royals with seven kills for seven points. Fellow co-captain
Jennifer Stoa (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) was the next highest scorer with five kills, a service ace, and a block assist for 6.5 points.
Hamline's Emily Amici led all scorers with 13 kills, a service ace, and two block assists for 15 points, while teammate Marissa McGrath had 11 kills.
The Royals are now 4-9 overall and 0-2 in MIAC play. Hamline improves to 10-4 overall, and 1-1 in the conference. Bethel's next opportunity to break out of their six-match slide comes this Saturday when they travel down to Winona, Minn., to take on the Saint Mary's Cardinals beginning at 3 p.m.
