Royals hold off Tommies in a 0-0 tie

ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Royals have changed the record books again by tying the St. Thomas Tommies 0-0 after two overtime periods. This is the first season in Bethel University women's soccer history that the Tommies have not defeated the Royals. This tie brings the Royal's undefeated streak to eight.

Royal goaltender, Charli Sorenson (Sr., Park Ridge, Ill.) played a tough game, shutting down all 17 shots from the Tommies giving her another shutout this season and her 14th career shutout.

The tie gives the Royals a very important conference point and brings them to 1-0-1 in the MIAC, and 6-0-1 overall. They are currently tied for first place in the MIAC with St. Thomas who are now 1-0-1 in the MIAC, and4-0-1overall. The Royals are scheduled to play a home conference game at the Ona Orth Complex against Macalester College on Sept. 16 at 4 p.m. for their next match.
