ST. LOUIS
- Heading into this weekend's fifth annual Teri Clemens Invitational hosted by Washington University of St. Louis, the Bethel Royals face the daunting task of taking on three of the top four finishers in last year's NCAA Division III championship playoffs. They began by facing 2007 runner up, #13 UW-Whitewater, who defeated them 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-15). The Warhawks were also the team that knocked Bethel out of the NCAA playoffs last season.

Offensively, Bethel had a tough time against Whitewater as Jennifer Stoa (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) was the Royals top scorer with seven kills and a block assist for 7.5 points. Co-captain Chelsea Falck (Sr., DeForest, Wis.) was the next highest scorer with 6.5 points on five kills, a solo block, and a block assist. Kelly Otto (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) was held to a season low three kills.

The loss drops Bethel to 4-5 on the season, while Whitewater improves to 6-3. Bethel is scheduled to continue play in the Teri Clemens Invite tomorrow beginning at noon in the Athletic Complex.
