ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University men's soccer team was defeated by Hamline University in a hard fought contest by the score of 1-0.

With under five minutes left to play in the first half, David Donner got the Pipers on the board with what would turn out to be the game winning goal.  Evan Falon assisted on the play in helping lead Hamline to their third win of the season.

For the Royals on offense, no player had more than one shot on goal.  One of Bethel's best opportunity to score came in the first half, deep in Hamline territory when the Royals strung together a series of passes that lead to a shot on goal by Brandon Peplinski (So., Maple Grove, Minn.).  However, Hamline goalkeeper John Moening came up with the save to squelch Bethel's scoring chance.

With the loss, the Royals now fall to 1-5 and 0-1 in MIAC play on the season, while the Pipers win their second straight and improve to 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in the conference.  Bethel continues their quest when they travel to St. Thomas to take on the Tommies Saturday at 1 p.m.
