ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Carleton Knights came into the Ona Orth Athletic Complex with a 0-16 overall record and 0-6 conference record today, and Bethel made sure that they stayed winless by posting two decisive wins over the visitors, 7-1 and 9-3.
In game one,
Lauren Habisch (So., Lakeville, Minn.) was 1-for-3 with three runs batted in, while
Michelle Wilson (Fr., Anoka, Minn.) was 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run to lead the Royals offensively. MIAC Pitcher of the Week
Nea Harkness (So., Winthrop, Minn.) earned her second win in as many days by pitching five innings, allowing just one run on seven hits. She struck out six and did not walk any for her fifth win of the season.
In game two, Habisch was 3-for-3 with a double and a stolen base, while Wilson and
Kelly Berg (Fr., South Haven, Minn.) each batted in two runs.
Charitey Rowden (So., Shellsbug, Iowa) gave up three runs in seven innings for a complete game victory. She allowed just four hits while striking out three and walking two. She now leads the team in victories with six.
Bethel is now 15-10 overall and 7-3 in the MIAC, leaving them two wins shy of last season's total, yet two conference wins above last season. Carleton remains winless on their season at 0-18 overall and 0-8 in the conference. Bethel is scheduled to take on Hamline at 1 p.m. this Saturday in a doubleheader at the Orth Complex for their next games.
