ST. PAUL, Minn.
- Cold and rainy weather forced Bethel's match against St. Olaf to be moved indoors today, but that didn't stop the Royals from defeating the Oles 5-4 at the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center at Fort Snelling.

Bethel took a 2-1 lead after doubles competition and successfully won three singles matches to claim a 5-4 victory.  Jordan McIver (So., Alexandria, Minn.) stepped in to play doubles with David Torres (Jr., Arden Hills, Minn.) and the two defeated David Narvaez and Drew Erie.

Chris Scheevel (Sr., St. Cloud, Minn.) improved to 3-2 in MIAC singles play with a win over Ian Pray, while Tom Ronning (So., Alexandria, Minn.) improved to 4-1 with a win over Erie.

Bethel is now 3-2 in the conference, and improves to 5-6 overall with the win.  St. Olaf drops to 3-3 in MIAC play and 3-8 overall.  The Royals are scheduled to take on Macalester next Tuesday at 5 p.m. in St. Paul for their next match.
