CLERMONT, Fla. - The Royals continued their spring break trip with a game against the Concordia-Wisconsin Falcons today, but came up on the short end of a 7-2 decision.
Bethel scored first when
Tonia Erickson (So., Welcome, Minn.) scored on a
Laura Naig (Sr., Kasson, Minn.) single in the first inning.
However, the Falcons answered with two runs of their own in the second, and proceeded to score four more over the course of the next four innings before the Royals were able to put another run on the scoreboard.
Michelle Wilson (Fr., Anoka, Minn.) led off the sixth inning for Bethel and reached on an error. It wasn't until there where two outs that she stole both second and third base before coming around to score on a
Kelly Berg (Fr., South Haven, Minn.) single. Unfortunately, the rally ended with the bases loaded and only one run across. Concordia scored once more in the sixth to make the score 7-2.
Nea Harkness (So., Winthrop, Minn.) pitched a complete game and took the loss for Bethel. She is now 1-1 on the season.
The loss gives the Royals a .500 record at 2-2 overall. Bethel is scheduled to take on Felician College of New Jersey next for their third and final game of today.
