ST. PETER, Minn.
- Bethel entered tonight's match against Gustavus having won two of their last three matches.  However, #5 nationally ranked Gustavus stopped Bethel's momentum by handing them a 9-0 loss at the Swanson Tennis Center.

The sweep ends a four match winning streak for Tom Ronning (So., Alexandria, Minn.).  Ronning began the season undefeated, as he was the lone match winner against Carleton.

David Torres (Jr., Arden Hills, Minn.) went to a tiebreaker game with his competition, Ben Tomasek, before falling in the third and decisive set.

The doubles tandem of Alex Zabel (Jr., Edina, Minn.) and Joel Cassens (So., Owatonna, Minn.) came the closest to defeating their Gustavus counterparts, but were knocked off 6-8.

The Royals fall to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in MIAC play with the loss.  However, their two losses have come against the top two teams in the conference.  Bethel will now have more than a week and a half off before traveling to St. Cloud State University to take on the Huskies on Wednesday, March 12 at 5:30 p.m.
