ST. PETER, Minn. - Bethel faced the daunting task of taking on Gustavus in an attempt to claim their first victory of the season.  However, the perennial MIAC champion Gusties swept the Royals 9-0, handing them their fifth straight defeat.

The doubles team of Kristin Kishaba and Allison Kishaba (Jr.,/So., Eau Claire, Minn.) nearly pulled off a victory, but ultimately fell 6-8.  Kristin then came the closest of any of Bethel's singles players to defeating their Gustavus counterpart, but she too came up short 4-6 and 5-7. 

Bethel falls to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in MIAC play, while Gustavus improves to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference.  The Royals will have more than a week and a half off before their next match as they will travel to  St. Cloud State University to face the Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 13.
