WINONA, Minn.
- Kent Bostrom (Jr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.) scored his second goal of the night just 1:07 into the third period to put the Royals up 3-2.  However, in an eerie resemblance to Bethel's game against Gustavus just three weeks ago, Saint Mary's scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Royals 5-3.

Bostrom had six points against the Cardinals over the weekend on three goals and three assists.  He now has 11 goals and 20 assists on the season  for 31 total points.

In a stark contrast to last night's 6-2 win over Saint Mary's, Bethel trailed in much of tonight's game.  The Cardinals got on the scoreboard first just 4:00 into the game on a goal by Adam Gill.  Brad Peterson (Jr., Bloomington, Minn.) answered with a goal of his own less than three minutes later with the help of Dan Bonne (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) to knot things up at 1-1.

Gill put Saint Mary's back out 2-1 with 7:16 remaining in the second period, but Bostrom tied the game at 2-2 less than two minutes later, unassisted.  Bostrom struck again with the help of Jeff Balvin (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) and John Kovacs (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.), making it 3-2.

Down, but not out, the Cardinals tied the game at 3-3 with a goal from Kevin Eidsmo 7:24 into the final period.  Saint Mary's got their go-ahead goal from Eric Dahl with just 3:15 remaining and then sealed the victory with another goal less than a minute later.  Cardinals' leading scorer Mike Glaesmer, who also had a goal in last night's game, scored his 14th goal of the season, putting the game away at 5-3.

Bethel falls to 14-6-2 overall and 9-4-1 in MIAC play.  They currently hold a two point lead over St. Thomas in the standings after the Tommies came from behind to tie the Hamline Pipers 3-3.  Saint Mary's improves to 8-11-2 overall and 5-7 in the conference.  The Royals will open up their last series of the regular season at home against St. Olaf next Friday at 7 p.m.
